CARRIED AWAY
CARRIED AWAY is a collection of 40 poems that contains heartwarming, rhyming reflections on seemingly ordinary events or things like “Snow Day” or “The Hearth,” as well as fantastical, short tales like “Fairy Fair” and “Rightful Owner,” which describes what happens when one finds a wizard’s staff and sets out to return it. This collection will delight young readers, spark imaginations, and remind adults of the enthusiasm for everything that comes with childhood.
EASY DOES IT
EASY DOES IT, the sequel to CARRIED AWAY, contains an additional 40 charming, whimsical poems inspired by everyday objects, as in the poems “Drinkware” and “Mom’s Purse” – all told in rhyme, as well as a few thoughtful observations that touch on serious topics in an approachable way, like “Cemeteries” and “Strange Weather.” This collection, like CARRIED AWAY, will entertain and inspire young readers while highlighting the curiosity that comes with youth.

COME RAIN OR SHINE
COME RAIN OR SHINE, the third and final volume in poet Daphne Hanes’ CARRIED AWAY collective, contains 40 rhyming poems that emphasize the wonder and amusement found in commonplace, but remarkable things, as in the poems “Wrapping Paper” and “Bookmarks.” Additionally, like in previous volumes, COME RAIN OR SHINE contains a few poems with embedded lessons like “Flyover Country,” which calls attention to the importance and value of America’s heartland.
